Social Housing
The supply of social housing re-lets, and new builds is a fraction of the demand. The reduction in affordable accommodation across the housing market increases the demand for social housing to the extent, that even households with the most urgent need, must wait for an offer of social housing.
The Council determines who qualifies to join the housing register, how applicants are prioritised and how properties are allocated. The qualifying criteria is published in BCP Council’s Allocations Policy.
